You Can Travel To Europe Safely Now

Tourism will be affected in Ukraine’s neighboring countries, which will undoubtedly be affected. ForwardKeys data shows that the most significant declines in tourism bookings occurred in Bulgaria, Georgia, and Hungary during the first week after the invasion. These numbers ranged from 30 to 50%. MMGY Travel Intelligence conducted a survey and found that 62% of Americans consider the possibility of the war in Ukraine spreading to other countries a concern when considering traveling to the EU. Mike Susong, senior vice president for global intelligence for crisis management and risk management, stated for AFAR that there is no reason to be concerned about safety when traveling to the EU. This is due to the distance between warzones and the top-visited EU nations.
The distance between Ukraine and other top destinations for Americans, such as Spain, Portugal, and Italy, is much greater. Most airlines have not made any changes to their flight schedules, but some airlines that used Russian airspace to connect to a third country in Europe had to modify their travel routes. However, the move has not impacted travelers, other than the fact that the flight time is longer. There are meager chances that Russian authorities would attack another country. Because shooting an EU country would mean dealing with the entire EU and their armies and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (since many EU countries are also members of NATO), there is a meager chance of this happening.

You should still be cautious

Experts advise travelers to take the appropriate precautions wherever they travel within Europe.
It will help if you exercise caution when deciding to move forward with your travel plans. Keep yourself informed about any changes in threat dynamics, which could affect your safety or freedom to move freely.
You can also be careful by buying the right travel insurance. Travelers planning to travel long ahead should ensure they have insurance covering cancellations.
Many travel insurance companies offer “cancel for all reasons” plans that allow you to cancel your trip and get your money back without giving a reason.
